Our Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Pittwater Camera Club will be a presentation evening on Monday, August 25th commencing at 7.45 pm for an 8.00 pm start.
The presentation for the evening is 'Sports Action' and our presenter David Miller will be showing some of the many sports action images he has taken over the years attending various sporting events. You can see more of David's images at http://davidmiller.id.au/

Tutorial
Prior to the presentation by David Miller our very own Brian Smith will be giving a tutorial on 'Back Button Focus' for both Canon and Nikon users.
What is Back Button Focus you ask? Come along and find out and yes, bring your camera with you.
Brian suggests that this may not be appropriate for low end or point and shoot cameras.
If you wish to come along the tutorial will start at 7.15 pm promptly.

Northern Beaches Invitational Photographic Competition
A reminder that entries for the NBIPC must be in by Thursday, August 21st.
Your digital image must be sent to Peter before Thursday night, your print and entry form is to be delivered to Bill at Peninsula Reflections, Suite 2102, Quattro Corporate, 4 Daydream Street, Warriewood, before close of business hours on Thursday.
Please read the rules regarding image mounts thoroughly as images not complying will not be accepted. The rules can be found under the Notices tab above.

Portfolios
A reminder to our portfolio group that our next meeting will be held on Monday, September 1st, at Pittwater RSL, commencing at 7.30 pm.
Everyone is well under way with their portfolios, in fact we are in the home straight now, so at this meeting we should be seeing some really magical images.
Our portfolio group will be having a very special presentation evening towards the end of 2014 where the years work will be on display for all Pittwater Camera Club members and guests to see, we will also be having a judge come along to critique the work.
Portfolio nights are always 'special' at any camera club as this is where you really get to see images that are not seen in regular competition.
We will let you know when the portfolio evening has been scheduled.
