Our Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Pittwater Camera Club will be held on October 14, 2013 – this is just an early reminder because of the long weekend.
It will be a competition evening and our judge will be Gavin Roberts
The subject will be ‘Time’
The definition for the evening
‘Portray time without imagery of clocks or time pieces’
Digital Images are to be sent to Mike West – [email protected] before 9pm October 9th
Our meeting will commence at 7.45pm for an 8.00pm start
We look forward to seeing you at:
BYRA
1842 Pittwater Road
Bayview
Thank You
A very BIG thank you to our two Brians – Brian Smith and Brian Halls. We spent a couple of hours with them on Monday night (trying to) master the concept of ‘Light’. We all had fun under Brian Halls tutorage as we tried to capture an image of a strawberry falling into a tank of water with the aid of a laser beam and some flash.
Brian Smith brought along several small photo tent cubes and various lighting arrangements to enable us to experiment with various flash settings.
The sales for flash triggers and laser pens on ebay have probably gone through the roof this week as a result of the excellent workshop.
Thanks again guys.
Club Outing
Monday, September 30th will be a club outing. With a bit of luck the weather will be kind to us. We plan to meet up at Circular Quay for a night shoot around the Quay and Opera House precincts.
So, lets meet up on the concourse outside the Manly Ferry Wharf at Circular Quay from 6.00 pm until 6.30 pm. We will then head off towards the Opera House precincts – so if you miss us at the ferry wharf you will find us somewhere around the Opera House.
Later we can find a café or pub for a bite to eat. See you all there.
FCC Interclub 2013
The annual interclub will be held on October 27th and hosted by Manly Warringah Leagues Camera Club.
A email has been sent out advising the images selected for entry to the Interclub.
Thank you to every one who submitted images – the images that were not chosen will be ready for collection at our meeting on October 14th.

Calibration
Calibrating your monitor is an essential part of ensuring that the image you see on your monitor at home closely resembles what the judges and members see up on the screen on a competition night. Correct calibration also helps to ensure that your printed image closely matches what you see on your monitor.
The club has a calibrator that we lend out to members to assist with this.
Please talk to Peter, Brian, Bill or myself if you wish to borrow the calibrator.
Club Patron
Brent Pearson inspires with his photography and techniques. His love of photography and his passion for sharing his knowledge serves as a great role model for fellow photographers. Visit Brent's website - Ctrl + click here
