Our Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Pittwater Camera Club will be held on September 16, 2013
This will be a ‘Hands On Workshop’ evening and will be conducted by ‘The Two Brians’.
The topic for the evening will be ‘It’s All About The light’
Yes, you are asked to bring your camera, tripod and flash gear along to enable you to fully take part. The guys will be providing various soft boxes etc to make this a night not to be missed, and they have all sorts of surprises lined up for us.
Just what do they have planned with a fish tank we ask???
Come along and join in the fun.
Our meeting will commence at 7.45pm for an 8.00pm start
We look forward to seeing you at:
BYRA
1842 Pittwater Road

FCC Interclub 2013
The annual interclub will be held on October 27th and hosted by Manly Warringah Leagues Camera Club.
Our selectors will be choosing the images for entry to the Interclub this week and an email will be sent out shortly advising whose entries were chosen and for which section.
Thanks to everyone for submitting your images.
Robyn’s Corner
Our super sleuth Robyn is always on the look out for links to interesting websites, courses and photographic bargains. These are her latest discoveries.
Aerial Photos. The Pixel Trade, Virtual Supply Co, Malcolm Fackender, Wifi Cards, psd tuts, History of Photography, The Aust Museum – Wildlife Photographer of the Year
Thanks Robyn for these great finds.
Club Outing
Monday, September 30th will be a club outing. With a bit of luck the weather will be kind to us. We plan to meet up at Circular Quay for a night shoot around the Quay and Opera House precincts.
This will be an ideal opportunity for you to put in to practice some of the ‘Two Brians’ methods, and there will be other members as well from whom you can get advice.
Later we can find a café or pub for a bite to eat. More details later with info of where and when to meet.
National Comps
There are a couple of new comps here you may be interested in, just follow the links or go to our website.
Macular Disease Foundation Australia, - Closing Date October 2nd
Henry Lawson Camera Club Invitational – Entry Form available on our web site
Gardens in Focus – Spring Promotion
Exposure
Would you like more exposure for your business?
For a small donation to Pittwater Camera Club we will arrange for your logo, business address and phone number and link to your web site from various pages of the Pittwater Camera Club website, along with the same in our newsletters.
The only criteria is that you must be a financial member of Pittwater Camera Club, be a sole trader or in a partnership and have an ABN.
Our website attracts several thousand visitors per year and our newsletter is distributed to over 100 people every two weeks.
This represents a wide coverage of prospective customers for your business for less than $1 per week.
So if you are a tradie, accountant, solicitor, shop keeper, hairdresser, beautician, window cleaner etc, and are interested in getting your business name out there to an even wider market, please contact Peter, Bill, Brian or myself and we will go into it in a lot more detail with you.
Camera Gear
Have you recently purchased a new camera and now find you have excess gear? Let me know and I will put your items in our newsletter.
Competition Entry Form
Don’t forget to download your ‘Competition Entry Form’ to store on your computer and print out when required. Just Ctrl + click here
Image Mounts
Peninsula Reflections at Warriewood very kindly supply mat boards to the club at prices that cannot be bettered anywhere. If you wish to purchase boards at any time just talk to Brian at the door.
If you are unsure how to mount an image just go to our web site, click on Resources or Ctrl + click here
Calibration
Calibrating your monitor is an essential part of ensuring that the image you see on your monitor at home closely resembles what the judges and members see up on the screen on a competition night. Correct calibration also helps to ensure that your printed image closely matches what you see on your monitor.
The club has a calibrator that we lend out to members to assist with this.
Please talk to Peter, Brian, Bill or myself if you wish to borrow the calibrator.
