Our next meeting on May 30th is our Annual Dinner
Our last meeting
We had a great night with Carol Gibbons, a local photographer whose passion is portraiture and pets. Carol gave us heaps of tips on how to capture people in poses to make them look natural and at their best. Animals are another thing again, patience is required, also downloading various apps from the net can help get an animals interest.
You can follow Carol on FB if you wish to keep in touch
May Birthday Draw
Our lucky winner for May was Al Purnell. At his first meeting back with us this year after he and Ruth's travels for the last few months, he managed to pick up a voucher to attend a chocolate making course kindly donated to us by Lindsay & Edmonds, Warriewood. So welcome back Al and Ruth - we will be looking forward to tasting the chocolate samples. Lindsay & Edmonds have a small stall at Warriewood Square at the moment, just near Woolworths. Stop by and say hi from PCC.
As Mike and I will be away travelling beyond the black stump for the next few months some other kind members have stepped in to take over some of our jobs. So please note...
Competition Images are now to be sent to Brian Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org - Brian will also be the projectionist on comp nights - Thanks Brian.
Most of the time I should be able to continue with the secretary stuff, depending on connectability. If you have something urgent though, it would be best to contact Bill Roberts on email@example.com
This sounds interesting...
Ku-ring-gai pH is an exhibition and residency project presented by Eramboo Artist Environment, Manly Art Gallery & Museum and National Parks and Wildlife Service NSW, and supported by Pittwater Council. Curated by Susan Milne and Katherine Roberts.
Collaborating artists and scientists involved with the innovative Ku-ring-gai pH: art + science project talk together in depth about the way Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park has informed and inspired their ideas about art and science as interrelated fields, and the scientific and creative concepts they are exploring for the exhibition at Manly Art Gallery & Museum in December 2016.
Lots more info is in their flyer which can be found under the Workshops tab above.
Rules of Entry to Competition
Images may be entered in three competitions in total plus one (1) Images of the Year. However, a submission which is judged at 12 points or more, may then only be entered in one (1) additional Open or Set competition during the same year.
And please, please, please keep your image names down to one or two words only, plus your name. Long descriptions of where the image was taken and the circumstances are irrelevant to the webmaster. Short and sweet please.
PCC Outing - Register Now
Our Social Secretary Brian is organising an outing for us to go motor racing.
The event is Sydney Retro Racefest to be held at Eastern Creek Raceway on Saturday, June 11th. We have all seen Darryl Bullock's great motor racing images - now you can find out how he does it - as he will be there to supervise.
This promises to be a great learning experience for us all.
If you are interested please send an email to Brian.
